The E-2 Treaty Investor Visa is a non-immigrant visa that enables the nationals of countries that have a treaty of commerce and navigation with the U.S. to come into the U.S. to invest in and operate a U.S. based enterprise. The E-2 Treaty Investor must demonstrate that they are making a substantial investment in a real operating business in the U.S. and that they will be engaged in the daily management or operations of the enterprise. The E-2 Treaty Investor visa permits the investor to stay in the U.S. for a temporary basis but does not provide for permanent residency (green card).
