For an EB-5 visa, the investor must make a qualifying capital investment in a new commercial enterprise in the U.S. The current requirements are as follows :
- Standard Investment : a minimum of $1.050. 000 if the investment is made in a project located outside of a Targeted Employment Area.
- TEA Investment : a minimum of $800,000 if the investment is made in a TEA Areas designated as rural or with high unemployment.
These funds must be at risk for the duration of the conditional residency period, and the investment must ultimately help create or preserve at least 10 full time jobs for U. S workers.
